Joint Interoperability Test Command (JITC)

July 15, 2009

The JITC, an element of the Defense Information Systems Agency (DISA) within the Department of Defense (DoD), is responsible for planning, conducting, evaluating and reporting results of testing and related systems engineering aspects of command, control, communications, computers and intelligence (C4I) systems and automated information systems (AIS) with emphasis on their application to joint and/or combined operations. The JITC develops, operates, and maintains facilities at Fort Huachuca, Arizona and Indian Head, Maryland in support of testing and engineering C4I and AIS systems within DoD, other Federal Agencies, and private industry. National Security Systems/Information Technology Systems (NSS/ITS) is synonymous with C4I and AIS.

With so many DoD systems sharing information across military services, security is paramount. LogiCore facilitates information safety with information assurance testing, making sure that authorized users have access to authorized information at the authorized time. Information assurance testing protects information and information systems by ensuring data confidentiality, integrity, authentication, availability and non-repudiation.

LogiCore also assists JITC in moving the Government to net-centricity by providing safe, reliable, and responsive support through many different types of services. For example, LogiCore performs interoperability testing activities, analyzes the testing results, and authors test plans and reports in support of the Department of Defense’s migration to Internet Protocol version 6 (IPv6). These reports inform the Joint Chiefs of Staff of IPv6 performance compared to Internet Protocol version 4 (IPv4), influencing DOD IPv6 policy decisions.

LogiCore understands effective communication is mission-critical. Clear, concise, real-time communication helps to eliminate confusion, redundancy, and misdirected efforts. To meet these goals, we provide design, development, and implementation for hardware, firmware and software systems for joint interoperability automated test systems, including the following:

– Joint Interoperability Modular Evaluation System (JIMES)
– Joint Operational Capability Assessment Tool (JOCAT)
– Joint Operational Simulation Evaluation Facility (JOSEG)
– Theater Air and Missile Defense Interoperability Assessment Capability (TIAC)
– Joint Computer Aided Analysis Tool (JCAAT)

By safeguarding and managing information, LogiCore has the ability to protect and save lives by providing timely and accurate information exchange among a wide range of computer equipment components, networks, and software applications.
