Introducing the 2009 Miranda Bouldin General Scholarship Winners!

June 16, 2009

“We have an obligation and a responsibility to be investing in our students and our schools. We must make sure that people who have the grades, the desire and the will, but not the money, can still get the best education possible.” – U.S. President Barack Obama

LogiCore is excited about higher education!

Each year, the Miranda Bouldin General Scholarship Fund sponsors an essay contest. In previous years, LogiCore has given away $1,500 scholarships to deserving students pursuing four-year college degrees from an accredited university. This year, we presented 15-inch Inspiron laptops in addition to the $1,500 scholarship.

In announcing this year’s winners, Miranda Bouldin, President and CEO of LogiCore, shared some of her thoughts about the importance of education.

“College is a very important period in a young person’s life, and I was fortunate to attend Alabama A&M University and earn a degree in Business Administration and Logistics. The education I received was the perfect springboard for me to apply toward a career in business, and then in creating my own business. I agree wholeheartedly with Nelson Mandela, who said that education is the most powerful weapon that you can use to change the world, and I look forward to opportunities to support our students, who are tomorrow’s leaders.”

This year’s entrants selected from among the following topics for their essays:

  • The Definition of Education
  • An Analysis of What Makes an Effective Teacher
  • The Internet’s Influence on Education
  • Higher Education Funding
  • An Analysis of the Advantages/Disadvantages of Distance Education
