Essay Criteria:
| 1. |
Must include cover sheet with the following information: entrant's name, mailing address, email address, name and address of selected four-year Alabama College or University, parent’s or legal guardian’s name and contact information, and your declared major. |
| 2. |
Essay must be no fewer than 500 words and no more than 1,500 words in length. Essay must be typewritten in Arial size 12 font, and double-spaced. |
| 3. |
Essay must be original and the sole work of the entrant. |
| 4. |
Only one entry per student, please. |
| 5. |
All entries become the property of LogiCore Corporation and will not be returned. |
| 6. |
LogiCore employees and their immediate families are eligible. |
PLEASE NOTE: Failure to follow these rules may lead to disqualification.
Judging Criteria:
| 1. |
Entries will be judged on expression of ideas, originality and overall content. |
| 2. |
Consideration will be given to applicant’s need, community involvement, awards, honors and achievements. |
| 3. |
Essay must be postmarked no later than April 14, 2012. |
| 4. |
Essay contest deadline: April 20, 2012. |
| 5. |
Winners and other participants will be notified by April 20, 2012. |
| 6. |
Decisions of the judges are final. |
Award Criteria:
| 1. |
Entrants must be a citizen of the United States. |
| 2. |
To qualify you must be a senior at any school system in Madison County, Madison City, Huntsville City, or Lawrence County; an incoming 2012 freshman at any four-year Alabama college or university; junior colleges and/or vocational schools do not qualify. |
| 3. |
When selecting the application online: After being redirected to the online application form update the essay topic list. |
| 4. |
Must provide an official copy of your high school transcript. Transcript must be mailed directly from the school. |
| 5. |
Provide three (3) letters of recommendation. Letters must be from teachers, guidance counselors or principal of the entrant’s high school. |
| 6. |
Entrant must have a cumulative grade point average of 3.00 or higher and scored at least 21 on the ACT or 990 on the SAT. |
| 7. |
Scholarship payment will be directly sent to the Alabama College or University the student is enrolled in. Student must be enrolled in a 4-year College or University in the state of Alabama and must maintain 4-year enrollment. |
